Video Transcript for Review of SeaSucker Marine Boat Accessories - Horizontal Mount Cup Holder - SS24FR

Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and today we're gonna be taking a look at the SeaSucker Cup Holder. Now, the distinguishing thing about SeaSucker's products is that they have these vacuum cups. These create a nice, really strong seal between the mount, whatever it is, to whatever surface you attach it to. It just has to be a non-porous surface and it's gonna hold really, really well. So to do that, all you have to do is press in on this little pump and that's going to pump out all of the air and create that vacuum-tight seal against whatever you wanna mount this on.

So you'd have this on a boat, on a trailer, just about anywhere you need it. Again, to do that, I have this on just like kind of a little flimsy table here just to demonstrate. So it might be a little bit awkward or more awkward than it would be for you, but you want to press down on the cup and pump that plunger until there's no more of this orange color showing. And you should see this cup start to flatten out at the bottom. There it goes. We're just going to keep pumping until that orange is completely gone.

There it is. So now it's really sturdy on there. It's not going anywhere. It's going to hold tight, even in high wind, even if you go over bumps and things like that, or maybe you're riding over a little choppy water. No worries about this flying off.

It's definitely going to hold really strong. It has a pull rating of 120 pounds. So definitely on there really, really tight. Now, whenever you first put it on any surface, it's a good idea to get that cup wet and also to apply a little bit of this lubricant. That's going to help to make it easier to remove.

Again, with my little table, it's kind of awkward to remove this 'cause it bends and so it doesn't quite want to let go of this cup.The nice thing about it is that the vacuum cup is a soft rubber material. So it's not going to damage the surface that you have this mounted to. It shouldn't cause any issues, any puckering or damage to the paint. So you can use these on all kinds of different surfaces and you shouldn't have any issues with it.So I'm just trying to break the seal without pumping more air in, or out, actually. And you can see, you really can't even turn that Mount. I can turn the cup itself, just because of how it's mounted to the base, but it's holding really tightly on there. While I'm fiddling with this, we can talk about how big this cup is. Overall, it measures 5 1/2 inches tall and then 6 1/2 inches whenever that plunger is all the way out from the back of the seal to the front of that. So that's the minimum amount of space you'll need to have to get this in place. I didn't mean to push that in. Now it's holding a little tighter. So if you're mounting this on something that's more rigid than this little plastic table that moves around, you shouldn't have to fight with it this much. It's just, I wanted to be able to show you guys how it looks on the bottom. You can see that little hole there, that's where it's going to push the air out from that pump. And even, there we go. Had to find a little, tiny lip that was hanging off the side of that table, and now it pops off. So there's no damage to my table. There's a little bit of a ring just from where the lubricant was. So you can just wipe that up and it should be fine. So safe to use on any kind of painted surface. It really shouldn't cause any issues there. It's a good idea to clean it up before you put this guy on, so there's no dirt or grime that's getting caught in between that paint surface and that cup.But overall, these are really nice accessory to have. The size that this will fit, as far as your beverages, it's about 3 1/4 inch with this insert in place. But if we take that out, it just pulls out here, it's 3 1/2 inches in diameter. So it makes it a little bit bigger and it should allow for a lot of different kinds of cup sizes. The depth is at least 2 1/4 inch. There's a narrower opening that goes down about three inches. All in all, I think this going to make a really nice addition to your boat, to anywhere that you want to mount this up. It's going to come, again, with the little tube of lube and then also this cover to go over the bottom of that cup, so it protects it from getting dirty or banged up. But that's going to do it for our look at the SeaSucker Cup Holder. I hope this video has been helpful in deciding if this is going to be the right accessory for you. If not, we do have some other accessories from SeaSucker available here at etrailer.com. So check them out. Thanks for watching.
